The situation

Conflict

Infectious disease

Poverty and homelessness

Food insecurity
Landlocked in a region where conflict has driven millions of refugees across borders, Burundi has been a crossing point between people fleeing violence in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, to Tanzania.
While host to over 80,000 refugees, Burundi is experiencing a deepening domestic situation, including a rapidly growing population and high poverty rates.
