Due to its location in the Mediterranean, in-between the conflict-affected and asylum regions, Cyprus has the largest reception of asylum seekers in the European Union, per capita.
Currently grappling with the effects of overcapacity as only the third-smallest country in the EU, Cyprus experiences waves of low mobilisation of critical resources and support for arriving migrants and refugees.
Our support
In collaboration with local and international partners, we have provided our relief units in Cyprus as temporary homes for displaced families to live in safely, and infrastructure to promote improved health, protection and education. Learn more about our support.
