Democratic Republic of the Congo
Poverty and homelessness
The humanitarian situation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo remains complex. The deteriorating security situation for the much of the population living in the eastern regions, has caused over 4 million people to be displaced, and over 27 million in need of humanitarian assistance, mostly children.
With a lack of resources, the DR Congo also continues to face challenges in providing treatment for the wave of infectious disease outbreaks, including measles and cholera.
In collaboration with local and international partners, we have provided our relief units in the Democratic Republic of the Congo as temporary homes for displaced families to live in safely, and infrastructure to promote improved health, protection and education. Learn more about our support.
