Lithuania
The situation
Reception capacity
Lithuania is the most interior of the Baltic countries, bordering Poland and Latvia. Lithuania’s migration and reception policies have been adapted since its membership into the European Union in 2007, joining the Schengen agreement.
Consequential of its geographic location, most of Lithuania’s asylum applications come from Russia, Belarus and Tajikistan.
