The situation

Natural disaster

Nepal is highly vulnerable to natural hazards, already with a rapidly changing climate, leading to heavy precipitation. Due to its geographic location encompassing most of the Himalayas, increasing ice melt has made monsoon seasons at the foothills especially dangerous.

Intensifying and more frequently occurring natural hazards continues to displace thousands of Nepal citizens every year, with a total of over 3 million internally displaced people, consequent of natural disasters.
