Peru
The situation
Reception capacity
Peru consistently ranks among the highest number of Venezuelan refugees hosted within Latin America. Most refugees arrive at the northern border with Ecuador, and make their way further inward towards the urban centres of the country.
National response efforts have allowed the Venezuelan refugee population to be integrated into the host communities, however, waves of migration patterns are putting a strain on Peru’s capacity to host.
