In May 2020,  IKEA donated 25 RHUs to the Philippines, supporting the national response to contain the spread of COVID-19 at the height of the pandemic. The RHUs were provided to extend health infrastructure across the country, built strategically at points near hospitals. Installation of the RHUs were managed by the Office of Civil Defense.
