Between 2015 and 2017, What Design Can Do organised the Refugee Challenge in partnership with UNHCR and the IKEA Foundation. This worldwide design contest addressed the growing influx of refugees escaping dire circumstances in their homelands in pursuit of improved opportunities. The five successful entrants received a grant of 10,000 euros each and participated in a five-month acceleration program customised to their requirements.
