OUR WORK IN EDUCATION

Our shelters provide a learning environment, empowering displaced children for a brighter future.

Education is a right that should be accessible to all, from supporting early childhood development to technical and vocational training for adults. We help our partners realise their education programs to make sure children can return to school after being forced to flee. The design of our shelters can be adapted to create large and small learning environments.

The impact of education

Stability and normalcy

Provides a sense of stability and normalcy, and offers routine and structure to children’s lives.

Mental wellbeing

Can mitigate the psychological impacts of displacement by offering a sense of purpose, hope, and belonging.

Empowerment

Builds children’s resilience, knowledge, skills, and critical thinking, helps them navigate and contribute to society.

Protection

Is a safe environment for children, protecting them from exploitation, abuse, and recruitment into armed groups.

Future opportunities

Opens doors to opportunities, enabling displaced children to break the poverty cycle, go to university and access better job.

“Here, the school is close to my home. I go there with my sister and my cousins, and I have made friends to play with. When I grow up, I want to become a doctor so I can treat sick people in need.”
