Better Shelter invited to the 19th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, curated by Carlo Ratti

STOCKHOLM, 11 February 2025. The Swedish nonprofit Better Shelter has been invited to exhibit as a Special Project at the 19th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, which opens on May 10, 2025.

The 19th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, curated by Carlo Ratti and themed Intelli/Gens. Natural. Artificial. Collective., will take place from May 10 to November 23, 2025. This year’s Exhibition explores architecture’s role in shaping the built environment amid global challenges, highlighting intelligence as a tool for adaptation and problem-solving. It will feature transdisciplinary collaborations, experimental design approaches, and a focus on circularity.

“Exhibiting at the Biennale Architettura in Venice is a unique opportunity to be part of a prestigious legacy where the role of architecture in society has been explored and challenged for over a century. The Biennale Architettura’s long history of innovation and visionary thinking makes it a highly relevant platform to highlight solutions that address the most pressing challenges of our time. For us at Better Shelter, we hope to demonstrate how design can create hope and security for displaced people – a matter that has never been more relevant,” says Johan Karlsson, managing director of Better Shelter.

Better Shelter is recognised by the curatorial team as a Special Project, a set of installations which address pressing problems through the application of Intelligence while demonstrating the Curator’s goals of material circularity and interdisciplinary collaboration.
