The 7.8 magnitude earthquake that hit Türkiye and Syria on February 6th caused over 100,000 casualties. In North West Syria, it is estimated that nearly 6,000 people were left homeless. Responding to the need for shelter in the middle of winter, International Humanitarian Relief (IHR) and Polish Humanitarian Action (PAH), together with Better Shelter, provided RHUs for people affected by the earthquake in Syria.

The RHUs collectively form six separate transitional centres across five locations in the Idlib and Aleppo governates. Each centre is equipped with necessities, including furniture, beds, cooking and WASH facilities, provided by PAH. Each centre will also provide on-site psychosocial support.

Ultimately, the centres have the capacity to host up to 50 people at a time revolving on a needed basis, providing shelter support to a collective 300 people.
