The humanitarian crisis in Iraq remains one of the largest in the world and has entered a new phase since the end of the war against Daesh in Dec 2017: nearly 4 million Iraqis (3.9 M according to IOM) have returned home and are faced with destruction and devastation.
Our partner Terre des Hommes is on the frontline and supports families who return. Many of them find their homes, as well as public infrastructures such as schools, in ruins.
In collaboration with Better Shelter, Terre des Hommes is providing over 1200 shelters across Iraq to increase the number of learning spaces and help children return to school.
