By the end of 2015, there were a total of 22,000 refugees in Djibouti. Many of these people left their homes in Yemen following the outbreak of the Yemeni crisis.

In 2015, UNHCR and the Qatar Red Crescent implemented 300 Better Shelter Relief Housing Units (RHU)s in a camp in Obock, Djibouti, which specifically hosted refugees originating from Yemen.
