UNHCR supported the COVID-19 pandemic relief strategy in Tunisia since 2020, by donating up to fourteen RHUs, including to the Kasserine Governate in West Tunisia. When the pandemic grew and symptoms became more intense and fatal, UNHCR provided an additional two RHUs for COVID testing, to the Djerba hospital, located on the Djerba island off the Tunisian mainland. And when the COVID-19 vaccination became available to the general public, UNHCR provided seven RHUs to local health facilities across Tunisia, to extend infrastructure for testing and administering vaccinations.
