In March 2021, UNHCR implemented 149 Better Shelter Relief Housing Units (RHUs) as part of their response to the influx of Venezuelan migrants in Colombia and the rest of Latin America. These units will largely be used as temporary shelters for migrating families, on the path to interiorization in Colombia.

Evidence from implementing partners on the ground indicate that the RHUs have been used in temporary hospitals and health clinics, community infrastructure and educational structures.
